Giving is a duty
We believe giving is a duty of every Christian. Scripture does not say if you give, it says when: “When you give to the needy” (Matthew 6:2). Whoever has material possessions, sees a brother or sister in need and has no pity on them does not have the love of God in them (1 John 3:17); faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead (James 2:17). How much you give is between you and God (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Giving is not only money. A smile, an hour, a coat, a visit all count; Matthew 25 names the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick, and the prisoner. 21.gifts is for the money gift, from one person to another.
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Direct, with no middleman
We believe the best and most beautiful gift goes straight from the giver to the receiver, with no organization in between. The whole gift arrives: nobody takes a cut, delays it, or turns it into a program. Giver and receiver stay people to each other, not a case file, and both keep their dignity. It is the shortest path there is. The receiving address is yours, not ours; if 21.gifts disappeared tomorrow, it would keep working.

Bitcoin is the most effective money
We believe Bitcoin is the most effective money available today. It is censorship-resistant and permissionless: no bank, no ID, no opening hours. It reaches the whole world around the clock, and for a gift across a border it is the simplest way to send money — as simple as an email address. Small amounts arrive fast and cheap. Nobody can print more of it or stop it at a border, and it lands with the receiver, not with us. That matters most to people who already have little.
